Procedure for feet

From: boogi
This particular one doesn't take too long, as you can do this yourself quite easily. You merely need an old sock or something that will cover your foot, up past the ankle. If you want to go thigh high, that's up to you. Next you'll need duct tape and scissors. This is by far the CHEAPEST way to make a pawpattern for your feet, as all you're doing is using a foot covering and a part of a roll of duct tape. It's so cheap, that your costs are under $5.

From here, put one strip from the bottom of your foot, to where you want to end, and another one from the top of your foot, as well as the sides of the leg and ankle. This will help keep the shape. Then start wrapping the foot, doing the bottom, doing it LIGHTLY. Then do the toes and top of foot, and move up. Put your weight on your foot as you go, now and then, to be sure that the tape isn't on tightly. Otherwise the final product will be too tight.

Take a marker, and mark the inside of the taped leg down to the ankle. Then mark around the sides of the foot, where the foot curves up, which is where the stitches will be. You don't want to be walking on the stitches, which can hurt after awhile. Third and final marking, is from where the two marks from the inside of the foot meet, to the other side. You'll have a curved area here.

This will give you a three-part pattern, once you've cut yourself out of it. When you cut down to the area where the three markings end, you may be able to take it off your foot, and cut the rest from there.

A variation of this method is to cut down the front, to the toes, then mark around the foot, which is two pieces.

From there, add seam allowances and so on, when you sew. This is going to be one very comfortable footpaw when you're done.
